Smooth FRP Panels

GTOFRP™ FRP panels achieve a smooth, high-quality finish through surface treatments like gelcoat and fine surface veils. A pigmented gelcoat layer is applied during manufacturing to seal the panel and create a glossy, non-porous surface. This smooth, imperceptibly rough finish resists stains and grime and can be easily wiped clean. Because the surface is non-porous, it also resists mold, mildew and corrosion. In high-traffic or sterile environments, the seamless FRP finish provides both a hygienic barrier and strong impact resistance.

Fireproof FRP Panels

GTOFRP™ Fire-resistant FRP panels are made using special flame-retardant resins and additives. These formulations (often brominated or mineral-filled) reduce flammability and smoke. In practice, properly formulated fiberglass panels can achieve Class A flame-spread ratings, meaning flames spread very slowly. Class A FRP will typically self-extinguish once the flame source is removed. The fire-rated gelcoat and resin also limit smoke development and heat release. This fire performance, combined with FRP’s other benefits, makes it suitable for safe interior use under building codes.

UV-Resistant FRP Panels

Standard FRP resins can degrade under sunlight, but GTOFRP™ FRP UV-resistant panels are formulated to resist sun damage. Producers add special UV-inhibiting compounds into the resin and often apply a UV-blocking surface veil. This stabilizes the polymer and prevents it from chalking, yellowing or becoming brittle in sunlight. The UV-stable gelcoat and resin blend protect the panel’s strength and color over years of outdoor exposure. Even with high sun exposure, UV-stable FRP retains its aesthetics and performance.

Insulated FRP Panels

GTOFRP™ FRP panels naturally offer good insulation because glass fiber and polyester resin both have low thermal conductivity. In addition, panels can be made as rigid sandwich panels by bonding a foam core (such as polyisocyanurate) between two FRP skins. This foam-core construction greatly boosts thermal (and sound) insulation in a single lightweight panel. The result is an easy-to-install panel that slows heat transfer, helping maintain indoor temperatures and save energy. Unlike heavy metal panels, insulated FRP panels also reduce building weight and labor cost.

Translucent FRP Panels

GTOFRP™ FRP panels are made translucent to admit natural light. These daylighting panels use crystal-clear resin and tightly woven glass veils so that up to ~70–85% of visible light passes through. The glass fibers diffuse sunlight, providing bright, even illumination with no glare. Importantly, such panels also contain UV blockers to protect interiors. By allowing daylight in while blocking heat and UV, translucent FRP panels reduce the need for electric lighting and improve occupant comfort.
